Facebook has quietly rolled out a new feature that can greatly assist social media managers and business owners.
Within a Facebook page’s setting, there is now a Reminders tab.
Reminders are a way for Facebook to remind you to update your Page on certain days or on a regular basis. You can create Holiday Reminders on your Facebook page to remind you to post on holidays, like Christmas or Valentine’s Day.
Holidays are a great time to show your appreciation for your Facebook followers by simply wishing them a happy holiday without pushing for a sale. Gary Vaynerchuk suggests the method of “Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook.” Using this method, you should provide your customers with value three times before you ask them to purchase a good or service from you.
Holidays are an excellent time to engage with customers and provide value without asking for anything in return. Facebook Reminders can help you remember to post and engage on your Facebook Page on holidays to add value to your company’s social media management.
You can also create Custom Facebook reminders to remind you to post on your Facebook page on a regular basis. Once you check the Custom Reminders button a graph appears like in the screenshot below:
The Custom Reminders graph has all seven days of the week on one side and all hours from 12 am to 12 pm on the other line.
When you highlight a certain day and time the scheduled hour is shaded blue. By scheduling out your time and days of posts this way you can see in one clear graph the times and days of the week you are focusing your Facebook posts.
After creating a Reminders schedule you can return and edit the schedule at any time. Simply select a highlighted section to un-mark it and select blank sections to schedule new times and days.
As is said in the Facebook Reminders tab:
Regular posts build visitor trust and engagement, and reminders can make it easier to follow a posting schedule.
Facebook users are on Facebook 24 hours a day/7 days a week. There is no one right time to post on Facebook. The middle of the night hours are obviously the least populated time on Facebook, but if you are selling sleeping aids or mattresses maybe it’s the perfect time for your business to post!
A good social media strategy, when you are just beginning to post on Facebook, is to post at different times and days till you find the right fit for your business. Think about your audience: Are they young or old? Do they have children? Are they working or retired? Are they in school during the day?
Facebook Reminders would be a great way to test posting at different times to see when you receive the most engagement. Social media platforms always reward engagement with greater views to your posts so likes and comments are crucial to receiving a greater viewership without spending money.
Now we would love to hear from you. Do you see Facebook Reminders as a beneficial feature for the social media platform? Will you use Facebook Reminders to assist with keeping a regular flow of content posted on your Facebook page?
