A humble man by trade, Dave Waters has always seen himself as a Florida Gators fan among Florida Gators fans. Since he started his podcast, Gators Breakdown, fellow Florida fans have seen him as more than that. As a result, Waters quickly grew his podcast into one of the most successful media brands in the Florida Gators universe.
From the success of his podcast came the birth of a live YouTube show, Discord, and a rapport that Florida’s large fanbase has universally come to respect. As his brand name grew, however, Waters realized that he needed to grow his brand in a different way- he needed a website that could serve as a hub for all his content, and provide written content for his audience. Knowing Stingray Branding’s sterling reputation in the Florida Gators marketing community, Waters chose our agency to create the newest branch of his business.
This summer, we were thrilled to announce the launch of GatorsBreakdown.com. This launch marks the end of our web design efforts- but a new beginning for the many loyal followers of Gators Breakdown.
Gators Breakdown: A Hub Of Gators Content
Dave Waters has always been committed to delivering accurate, reliable, and engaging content that keeps Gators fans connected to the excitement surrounding their team.
But while Waters has always been wildly popular and grown a successful online brand, he’s the first to admit his brand was missing something. “I wanted a hub for all Gators Breakdown content,” Waters explained. “And Stingray Branding did an excellent job of building one for Gators Breakdown.”
Waters has always understood that providing different types of content makes him that much more marketable. Part of being a true fan means having access to exclusive insights and behind-the-scenes information, and moreover, consuming content in a variety of different fashions. Additionally, Gators Breakdown has always been an interactive media brand, as Waters loves conversing with his fellow fans- which is why he launched a Discord server.
With this new website, we’ve created a much easier way to integrate all that content into one place- and give fans the ultimate platform to take their Gators experience to the next level. “I’m so grateful for the Stingray team,” Waters remarked. “In the three weeks since the site has been active, I’ve already had several different people reach out and express how great the site is. It looks so clean and professional. And I’ve noticed a difference in how fans interact with me.”
The Stingray Branding Impact
So, how did we do it?
Our team at Stingray Branding builds websites with two main focuses: an easy user experience and eye-catching design elements. Dave Waters has always had a variety of branches under the Gators Breakdown umbrella, including his YouTube channel, Discord server, and merchandise store. We simply brought them all together in one orange and blue main navigation bar, so that anybody looking for more of Waters’ content can find it in seconds.
Additionally, the website background features an alligator scale pattern. This is a subtle nod to not only the program that Gators Breakdown covers but to the way it covers that program. The alligator scale pattern was carefully crafted and hand-designed in exquisite detail, a reference to the careful preparation and detail that Waters puts into his coverage of the Florida Gators.
Stingray Branding Continues Expanding Its Florida Gator-Related Footprint
For Stingray Branding, the production of the Gators Breakdown website marks just the latest project in a Florida Gators-related portfolio filled with them.
Stingray Branding first broke into the Florida Gators-related market by designing the website for the nonprofit organization The Gator Good Foundation in 2018. Since then, we’ve designed the logo and website of the popular Gators sports blog In All Kinds Of Weather, crafted a personal brand logo for former Florida Gator football player James Houston IV (now a rising star with the Detroit Lions), overseen all marketing operations for the Charleston Gator Club, and handled most of the marketing for the Gators’ inaugural NIL company Gator Collective. To this day, we continue those marketing services for the Charleston Gator Club as well as Gator Collective’s successor, Florida Victorious.
