We’re thrilled to introduce you to our newest team member, copywriter Matt Hampton!
Matt has had a lifelong love of writing and storytelling. His childhood dream was to be a writer, to tell stories. He studied creative writing at the University of Missouri-Columbia. While a student Matt several plays produced, including one as a main stage show for the theatre department, becoming only the third undergrad to ever have such a show.
In his senior year of college, Matt ran out of money for school and so he enlisted in the military. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 13 years as a Crew Chief and Maintenance Instructor. While enlisted, Matt earned multiple college degrees, including two Masters degrees from The Citadel. After separating from the military, he went to work for a tech startup in Charleston and then moved on to financial services.
In July of 2018, Matt left his job in financial services to pursue his dream of being a full-time writer. He embarked on a journey to meet 100 people in 100 days and tell their stories. Thus the blog, 100 Connections – Charleston, was born. Matt’s blog became a quick success, capturing the imagination of thousands of readers per week from across the globe.
Since completing his 100 Connections, Matt has embraced his love of storytelling. He has taught workshops on the authentic voice both for individuals and organizations, such as Hatch Tribe in Charleston, SC. Matt’s been featured as a speaker and a guest on numerous podcasts as an authority on storytelling and embracing your authentic voice.
Most of All Matt loves the written word. His passion and craft as a writer are an incredible addition to our team and a phenomenal resource for our clients.
We are very proud and excited to welcome Matt to the Stingray Team and look forward to his contributions.
