The newest tracking for Hurricane Matthew does show that some level of storm will hit Charleston, South Carolina.

Hurricane Matthew has made landfall in Haiti as a Category 4 storm with hurricane winds measuring 145 mph. The storm is expected to lose steam by the time it reaches Charleston, SC but it is still best to be prepared.
