The DAE (Delores and Estelle) Foundation was founded by College of Charleston Hall of Famer, Jermel President, in 1999. As a former student athlete in the Lowcountry, President understood the need for skill development programs in his community. Determined to educate and inform young basketball players on the opportunities and resources available to them, the DAE Foundation was born.
Sarah Bendorf, Stingray Branding’s graphic designer, met Jermel at the Charleston JCC where he helped run an after school basketball program for community youths. When Jermel came to us, he had a developed list of programs ran and offered, successful events both past and upcoming, and quite a few basketball teams that he worked with. What he didn’t have was a website that fit his needs. It was not clean looking, or easily updateable, and didn’t attract new people to find his programs and upcoming events.
What Sarah was able to create for him was a website that had an informative front page, listing what programs were available, a brief history, reviews, and upcoming events. The background of the home page is revolving images of programs and Jermel working directly with those learning basketball techniques that we will be able to add to in the future as events happen and interest grows. The website is clean, easy to navigate, matches the DAE Foundations already established brand and color scheme, and most of all is responsive to different screen sizes, both desk top and mobile. The website will easily be able to grow as the DAE Foundations needs further develop.
